Since typing that last long entry, Janis Joplin's live version of 'Summertime' started playing [I was listening to the rest of the compilation not heard on the mp3].
That's obviously where the instinct to include this in the SSS compilation comes from!
And a soulful/bluesy Gerry Lockran live version is playing now as I type this. I may have to reconsider.....
