This is a restored recording from the BBC Sight & Sound concerts, broadcast simultaneously on TV and radio, and there is both a DVD and cd in this latest Repertoire series.
Having seen Robin very recently it is remarkable to hear how little difference there really is between his playing in 1980 and now, though this recording and band of that time do have the great vocalist and bass player James Dewar giving his indelible stamp to such familiars as Bridge of Sighs and Daydream. Wonderful.
